INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
John Sammons, 46, of Prichard, West Virginia, was arrested Monday in Inez on a bench warrant for failure to make required disposition of property $1,000. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Casey Webb, 36, of Inez, was arrested Sunday on Beauty Road in Warfield for criminal mischief and alcohol intoxication in a public place. Deputy Chris Sesco responded to a report that Webb was in the IGA in Warfield, causing a scene, yelling and taking items from the shelves and opening them. According to the police report, when the store manager asked Webb to leave, “he tried to fight.” Webb then left the IGA and entered the Family Dollar Store, where law enforcement caught up with him and arrested him. According to the police report, Webb failed a field sobriety test.
Kenneth L. Ward Jr., 55, of Louisa, was arrested Friday in the McDonald’s parking lot in Inez for alcohol intoxication in a public place. Sheriff Kirk reported that Ward was a passenger in a vehicle in which the driver was involved in an accident. Ward exited the car and went into the Zip Zone store connected to McDonald’s. When he came back out, Deputy Chris Sesco smelled a strong odor of alcohol about him. The police report states Ward failed field sobriety tests and admitted he had drank four beers and two shots of liquor.
Shon Robinson, 45, of Inez, was arrested Nov. 29 at Parsons Branch in Inez for receiving stolen property $500-10,000 and a bench warrant out of Ohio. Sheriff Kirk reported Robinson was in possession of a stolen motorcycle taken from Middlefork Garage that the Martin County Sheriff’s Office impounded. The police report states Robinson advised he traded for the motorcycle from Charles Bo Crum.
Ernest Wesley New, 50, of Lovely, was arrested Nov. 28 at 9017 Riverfront Road in Lovely for first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia buy/possession. Sheriff Kirk stated New had a small amount of crystal rock-like substance and digital scales with white residue on them. According to the arrest report, the sheriff was assisting U.S. Marshals on a call at the residence where a wanted fugitive was arrested. New gave consent to search the home after being told law enforcement had received tips that he was dealing dope.
Cecil Diamond, 42, of Williamson, West Virginia, was arrested Nov. 28 at 9017 Riverfront Road in Lovely for drug paraphernalia buy/possession and five bench warrants out of Pike County and two out of Martin County. Sheriff Kirk and Deputy Sesco made the arrest. According to the sheriff, Diamond had a glass dope pipe and was a passenger in a car in which the driver was arrested.
Amy Lynn Blankenship, 43, of Williamson, West Virginia, was arrested Nov. 28 at 9017 Riverfront Road in Lovely for drug paraphernalia buy/possession, possession of marijuana, first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified) and a bench warrant out of Martin County. Sheriff Kirk reported that Blankenship had a glass dope pipe, 2-1/2 grams of marijuana, approximately 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine and a Fioricet pill.
Donald David Elkins, 64, of Williamson, West Virginia, was arrested Nov. 28 at 9017 Riverfront Road in Lovely for operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license and drug paraphernalia buy/possession. Deputy Sesco made the arrest.
