Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Shawn Hopkins

Shawn Hopkins, 28, of Inez, was arrested Friday on Main Street in Inez for failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, and no registration plates. Sesco made the arrest.

Derrick Brewer

Derrick Brewer, 39, of Kermit, was arrested Thursday on Main Street, Inez, for first-degree stalking, violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO, first-degree bail jumping and a bench warrant. Kidd made the arrest.

Brandy Farley

Brandy Farley, 28, of Pilgrim, was arrested Nov. 15 in Pilgrim for endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession.

While investigating a report that Farley had a knife and was threatening to self-harm at a residence on South Wolf Creek in Pilgrim, Deputy Kidd saw a clear container with drug paraphernalia and a green leafy substance near a 1-year-old baby. Farley allegedly stated the substance was “marijuana” and admitted she had used “meth” in the last 24 hours and “smoked marijuana.”

“I determined that the erratic behavior, self-admitted drug use and the presence of suspected narcotics put the juvenile in immediate danger,” Kidd noted. “DSS was contacted, and the juvenile was removed from the home for alternate placement by the cabinet.”

Jamie R. Evans

Jamie R. Evans, 29, of Lovely, was arrested Nov. 15 in Lovely for a bench warrant and second-degree criminal trespassing. Sheriff Kirk arrested Evans after finding him inside a storage rental at Tri-County Storage, knowing he had no right to enter and was not the renter.

Earl Jude

Earl Jude, 32, of Tomahawk, was arrested Nov. 14 in Tomahawk for theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others $500-$1,000 and warrants out of Lawrence County. Deputy Chris Sesco responded to a call reporting Jude walked onto Msatt Mills’ porch and stole four items. The deputy reported that video footage showed Jude walking each item to his pickup truck and driving off. Deputy D. Reffett served a Lawrence County indictment warrant and a bench warrant on Jude.
