Charles Edward Jude Sr.
1950—2023

Charles Edward Jude Sr., 73, of Lovely, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at the Jordan Center in Louisa.

Born March 30, 1950, on Pigeon Roost Fork in Pilgrim, he was the son of the late Harrison and Ollie Maynard Jude. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mable Jude; eight brothers, David, Bill, Harrison, Elijah, Joseph, Floyd, George and Thomas Jude; three sisters, Louise Moore, Virgie Fletcher and Easter Jude Crum; and one daughter, Chasity Lynn Jude.

Charles is survived by his children, Marenda (Dale) Huff of Huron, Ohio, Charles (Angela) Jude Jr., Angela (Patrick) Gibbs and Louellen Jude, all of Pilgrim, Charlotte (Amos) Evans of Lovely, Johnny Randell (Teri) Jude and Jimmy Cline, both of Lexington, Kathleen Jude (Pete Moore Jr.) of Debord, and Claude R. Jude of Hode; two stepdaughters, Crystal (John Albert) Shell and Heather Cline; one brother, Lacey (Gladys) Jude; sister, Vicki (Wendell) Luther; sisters-in-law, Judy Jude of Waverly, Ohio, Kathy Jude of Lovely and Linda Preece of Johnson City, Tennessee. Charles also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of family, nieces, nephews and friends, a great close friend of 40 plus years, Joey Fletcher and a very special nephew, George Isaac Jude, AKA Sherm.

Charles was a man who worked very hard. He was a retired coal miner and timberman.

Anyone who knew Charles knew he loved his family and friends with his whole heart. He was a child of God and prayed a lot for his family and friends, but he always prayed extra hard for his children to get their lives right and serve God.

He was a great man who enjoyed his life to the fullest. He loved to coon hunt, fish, trade and talk on his CB. He was always reading his Bible and listening to Gospel Music.

Funeral services are set for Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Little Home Hunited Baptist Church of Emily Creek in Pilgrim, with George Jude officiating. Burial will follow in the Jude/Muncy Cemetery on Emily Creek.

Friends may visit the church after 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, until the time of services.
