Betty Sue Newsome Hunt
1951—2023

Betty Sue Newsome Hunt, 72, of Kermit, West Virginia, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Oct. 23, 2023, at her home.

Born Jan. 11, 1951, in South Williamson, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Garland and Lucy Rose Newsome.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Hunt; son, Roger Hunt; siblings, Ella Mae Grace, Eula Mae Grace, Danny Newsome, Eugene Newsome, Claude Dillon and Elaine Newsome.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Warfield Church of God.

Survivors include her son, Steven (Dawn) Hunt of Kermit; daughter-in-law, Angie Hunt of Lenore, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Jude of Beauty, Kentucky, and Ashton Hunt of Stepptown, West Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Rayson and Roger Jude of Beauty. She also leaves behind her brother, Garland Jr. (Imogene) Newsome of Naugatuck, West Virginia, and sisters-in-law, Vondene Hunt, Vicky Spence and Rita Kay Hunt, all of Pilgrim, Kentucky.

Funeral Services were conducted Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at the Warfield Church of God, with Pastor Robbie May and Bobby Perry officiating. Burial was at the Newsome Ridge Cemetery in Naugatuck. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Betty Sue Newsome Hunt.
