Cardinals set football records

INEZ — In the much-anticipated Martin County vs. the Floyd Central district championship matchup Friday in Inez, the Cardinals secured the 2A District 7 title and set state and school records.

Devan Maynard’s spectacular play left the crowd in awe as he tied a state record for a 100-yard pick-6 during the game. His performance also set a school record.

Caleb Horn etched his name in the school’s history books, tying the record for the most PATs made in a single game. He achieved a perfect 7/7 in Martin County’s clash with Floyd Central.

Julian Stafford’s two interceptions on Friday earned him the No. 1 spot in the KHSAA rankings.
