Bruce Edward ‘Buzz’ Hopson
1954—2023

Bruce Edward “Buzz” Hopson, 69, of Blaine, formerly of Martin County, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Born April 11, 1954, in Holden, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Roe Hopson and Lila James Hopson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five siblings, Samuel “Boots” Hopson, Franklin “Dee” Hopson, Roe Hopson Jr., Audrey Rose Hopson and Joyce Lee Adkins, and his brother-in-law, Kenney McCoy.

Survivors include his daughter, Tessa (Tommy Spears) Hopson of Lafayette, Indiana; son, Paxton Fields; grandson, Bryce Hopson; and four siblings, Sheila (Garmon) Preece, Debbie McCoy, Sandra Kay (Bill) Preece and Tammy McClure. He also leaves behind 11 nieces and three nephews.

Bruce accepted the Lord and was baptized Oct. 6.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Garmon Preece officiating. Burial was at the Fannin Cemetery on Milo. Arrangements were under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
