INEZ — Inez Elementary’s Wax Museum, held Sept. 29, was a huge success. The fourth and fifth graders researched and gave a presentation and speech about their chosen famous personalities.
A big thank you is owed to Jordan Horn’s AP History Class from Martin County High School, who stepped in to judge the competition for the students of Inez Elementary.
Below is a list of the winners in the various categories.
Fourth Grade Winners
Among the fourth graders, Blaine Williams shone brilliantly as the Overall Winner with Highest Points for his portrayal of Donald Trump.
The President category for the fourth graders was also dominated by Blaine Williams in first place, with Trey Schmidt taking the second.
In the Artist category, Nolan Muncy emerged at the top.
The Male Sports category had a lineup of achievers with Kason Evans leading the pack, Raylan Preston coming in second and Kayden McCoy in third. Jayce McCoy and Bentlee Copley received honorable mentions for their commendable performance.
In the Female Sports category, Maddie Stepp took the gold, followed by Harper Runyon in silver.
The Historical Male category saw stellar performances with Rocco Maynard clinching the top spot, Isaiah Harmon in second, and Brantley Marcum in third.
The ladies in the Historical Female category were not left behind. Kyleigh Harmon secured first place, followed by Hope Dials and then Ariel Gibson.
The music lovers had their favorites too. In the Male Musician category, Kace Fitch led, followed by Kash Howell and Luke Jude.
The Female Musician category was jointly ruled by Lainey Davis and Graycee Harless in first place, with Paisley Mooney second and Emily Mollette third.
Last but not least, the Participation Awards for the fourth grade went to Layla Cline, Jase VanHoose, Rylan Bowens, Jonah McCoy and Landon Parsley.
Fifth Grade Winners
Turning the attention to the fifth graders, Bre Kellough received applause as the Overall Fifth Grade Winner with Highest Points.
In the Male Television category, Patrick Carter secured the first spot and was followed by Riley Stacy. Kenadi Todd was the singular favorite in the Female Television category.
Science enthusiasts rejoiced as John Bennett won the Scientist category, with Jayson Childress following closely.
Gwyn Chafin was the top name in the President category for fifth graders.
Historical categories saw champions with Gunner Lowe leading the Historical Male category, followed by Grady Chafin and Jacoby Moore.
The Historical Female category saw Bre Kellough win first, Emily Mooney second and Jaylea Maynard third, with Emely Adkins earning an honorable mention.
Sports achievers in the fifth grade included Kaden Whitt in first place and Kaiden Ball in second place in the Male Sports category.
Kenleigh Estep took first place in the Female Sports category.
Music was in the air. Kiley Wright won first place in the Female Musician category and Layla Howell claimed second.
Hunter Howard took the crown in the Male Musician category.
Finally, Participation Awards for the fifth graders were given to Maci Callaham, Caydance Davis, Khloee Maynard, Jalynn McGinnis, Jasper Paige, Lucas Slone and Savannah VanHoose.
