Ruth Ellen Fluty
1970—2023

Ruth Ellen Fluty, 53, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, at the Community Hospice House in Ashland.

Born Jan. 20, 1970, in Louisa, she was the daughter of Virginia Dalton Porter of Castle Branch, Inez, and the late Albert Porter.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Vance and grandsons, Joseph and Braden Hill.

Ruth was an employee of Crossroads of Hope in Ashland.

Survivors include her husband of eight years, James Phillip Fluty of Ashland; sons, David (Sarah) Hill of Catlettsburg and James Perry of Ashland; daughters, Davina (David) Bragg, Brittany (Brandon) Hogsten and Tiffany Fluty of Ashland; and 10 grandchildren, Olivia, Zoey, Bryson, Naveah, Akira, Amyiah, Zaiden, Cashton, Luke and Lennox. She also leaves behind her sisters, Alma Jean (Dave) Baldwin of Inez, Betty (Jeff) Hall of Louisa, Mary Jo Workman of Williamson, West Virginia, and Tracy (Scott) Johnson of Inez, and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, with Jessie Spaulding officiating. Burial was in the Bragg Cemetery on Mudlick Road, Jennies Creek, in Kermit, West Virginia. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
