Martin County High School golfer Jake James is the Mountain Citizen Player of the Week.

James showcased his skill and determination at the 11th Region golf tournament. He shot an 81 to secure a spot in the semi-state competition.

The senior consistently demonstrated his golf skills throughout the season with numerous top-10 finishes. He recorded a remarkable score of 72 at the Johnson Central Invitational and an impressive 74 at the Eagle Trace Invitational. James also earned the second qualifier spot at the 15th All-A region, earning his ticket to the All-A State tournament.

Five colleges have made offers to James: University of Pikeville, Spaulding University, Shawnee State, Kentucky Christian University and Alice Lloyd College.
