Larry Johnson 

1949—2023

Larry Johnson, 73, of Inez, passed away at his home Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023.

Born Dec. 16, 1949, in Paintsville, he was the son of the late Curtis and Ernestine Harmon Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three children, Larry Johnson Jr., Tanya Johnson and Roberta Johnson, and three siblings, Kathy Gauze, Drema Johnson and Curtis Johnson.

Larry is survived by three children, Rhonda Johnson (Septimio Benitez) Rood, Bruce (Dawn) Johnson and Kimberly Johnson; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by one sister, Christine Curry.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Garmon Preece officiating. Burial was at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Inez. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward the funeral cost. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
