INEZ — Player of the Week honors go to Martin County High Soccer this week.

In a historic victory, the Lady Cards secured their first-ever All “A” 15th Region championship Saturday, defeating Prestonsburg 1-0 in the title game.

Head coach Steven Gauze also celebrated a significant milestone: his first-ever All “A” regional championship.

The Lady Cards are an impressive 9-2 on the season, ranked ninth in the state for team scoring and 29th for team defense. Several players are also highly ranked in individual statistics.

The team includes Faith Caldwell, Hope Caldwell, Hailey Damron, Londyn Fraley, Katelynn Hale, Lena Hale, Chloe Jude, Ashdon Kerr, Katie Maynard, London Pinson, Trinity Preece, Jane Smith, Grace Caldwell, Aaliyah Cline, Addison Duncan, Madelyn Goble, Laura Hale, Caitlyn Horn, Jaz Jude, Emily Ledford, Sophia McCoy, Mia Preece, Aaliyah Scott and Tamara Workman.
