INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
Lonnie Robinson, 43, of Tomahawk, was arrested Monday on East Main Street in Inez on a bench warrant. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.
Larry Johnson, 73, of Inez, was arrested Monday on East Main Street in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.
James Harmon, 31, of Warfield, was arrested Saturday for speeding 15 mph over the limit, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, no operator’s/moped license, license to be in possession, booster seat violations and failure to appear. KSP Trooper Amburgey made the arrest.
Chris Maynard, 40, of Lovely, was arrested Friday on Route 1714 in Lovely for alcohol intoxication in a public place. Deputy M. Scott responded to a report just before midnight that Maynard was staggering and walking in the roadway on North Wolf Creek. According to the police report, Maynard was “intoxicated and extremely unruly.”
Rodrick Jackson, 37, of Youngstown, Ohio, was arrested Friday at the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy in Debord on a fugitive from another state warrant. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Joshua Lee Kirk, 42, of Inez, was arrested Thursday in the sheriff’s office on a warrant charging him with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Whitney Williams, 35, of Lexington, was arrested Thursday on a bench warrant for court. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Daniel Nelson, 31, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Thursday on a bench warrant for court. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Fred Daniels, 30, of Tomahawk, was arrested Thursday in the courtroom in Inez on a warrant for court. Deputy Dennis Hall made the arrest.
Dustin A. Dalton, 31, of Louisa, was arrested Aug. 15 on Beauty Road in Beauty for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited. Constable Bradford Preece reported that he was attending a funeral wake at Buck Branch United Baptist Church when several people stated Dalton had been drinking and they wanted him to leave. According to Preece, Dalton got into his vehicle and took off. The police report states the constable followed Preece in his vehicle for several miles and observed Dalton crossing the center line several times. Preece notified dispatch, and Sheriff Kirk made a traffic stop on Dalton. Preece stated Dalton failed field sobriety tests and tried to open another can of beer in front of law enforcement.
Danny Jude Jr., 34, of Beauty, was arrested Aug. 13 on Route 292/Hode Road, Warfield, for no/expired registration plates and failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security. Sheriff Kirk reported Jude was involved in a motor vehicle accident after crossing the center line and hitting another vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles. Kirk reported that Jude had an odor of alcoholic beverage about him and an open container of beer in the vehicle, an empty container of fireball liquor in his pocket and several full cans of beer in his vehicle. Jude passed field sobriety tests but admitted he had drunk the previous night. Burke’s towed the vehicle.
Mary Sue Porter, 50, of Debord, was arrested Aug. 12 on Crum Branch Right Fork in Debord for public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy M. Scott reported that Porter was hallucinating, saying she was seeing people around her house and screaming when law enforcement arrived. According to the police report, Porter was struggling to stand, unable to maintain balance, and was a danger to herself.
Brandon Mullett, 30, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 12 on Nichols Street in Inez for failure to appear for Martin District Court. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Deanna Wiley, 23, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 12 for failure to appear for a misdemeanor. KSP Trooper Ryan Hale made the arrest.
Ariel N. Carver, 26, of Warfield, was arrested Aug. 11 in Warfield for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia-buy/possession, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
The sheriff’s office and the Department of Social Services received reports that Carver had drugs and drug paraphernalia inside her apartment at Dempsey housing, where minor children had direct access. Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Kidd responded to DSS’s request for assistance at the scene. Upon the deputy’s arrival, a male subject fled the apartment, running out the backdoor to the river.
Carver consented to a search of the apartment, advising there was nothing illegal inside. In the bedroom, Kidd found several items: a glass pipe typically used for smoking methamphetamine, a green substance believed to be marijuana on the nightstand, two pills believed to be gabapentin in a clear wrapper on the nightstand and a silver compact containing a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine under the mattress.
Officials determined the children’s direct access to these items put them in significant danger. DSS removed the children from the home for alternate placement.
Jerome Lucas, 35, of Virginia, was arrested Aug. 11 at 11 p.m. at Zip Zone in Lovely for alcohol intoxication in a public place and disorderly conduct. Constable Bradford Preece was dispatched on a complaint about a male subject “being a pervert” toward Zip Zone workers and customers. The officer arrived at the scene to find Lucas inside the Subway restaurant. According to the police report, Lucas stated, “All I want is some [expletive], don’t care what kind.” Lucas allegedly admitted he drank several shots of liquor.
Patrick Lee Blackburn, 27, of Louisa, was arrested Aug. 9 on Ratlifftown Road, Inez, on three bench warrants. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Alicia Howard, 40, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 7 for failure to appear. Constable Preece made the arrest.
