INEZ — The hardwood floors of Martin County High School are echoing with pride as star guard Alyssa Allen becomes the talk of the town in college basketball circles. This prodigious talent for the Lady Cardinals is proving that her basketball prowess is not just local chatter, with two more colleges vying for her commitment.

Beacon College, based in Florida, and Kentucky Christian University in Grayson are the latest institutions to extend offers to Allen. These offers add to her collection of three.

Last season the standout guard averaged 9 points per game and shot 40% from 3-point land.

Reflecting on the latest offers, Allen shared, “I’m extremely grateful for both, and I’m excited that I’m being given the opportunity to play at the next level. The opportunity to play in college all the way in Florida is exciting. I’m happy to have gotten the offer. I’m also extremely happy that I’ve gotten the opportunity to play at KCU and tour their campus.”

Basketball runs deep in Allen’s family. Her late father, Larry Allen, was the first to put a basketball in her hands as a small child, molding a passion that has grown with time.

With her senior season on the horizon, Allen is on a trajectory to catch the eyes of more college recruiters. Fans and teammates will also be watching her next move.
