Edward Allen McGinnis
1961—2023

Edward Allen McGinnis, 61, of Inez, passed away Aug. 7, 2023, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

He was born Nov. 30, 1961, to the late Basil and Beulah McGinnis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Winfield “Peewee” McGinnis; three brothers-in-law, Nathan Gale Maynard, Kelly Crum, and Bobby Cornette; one sister, Gale Delong; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Glenn and Shirley Cornette; and his nephews, Greg Delong and Nathan James Maynard.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patty Cornette McGinnis of Inez; one daughter, Sinead McGinnis of Inez; one brother, Joe (Terry) Delong of Floyd County; three brothers-in-law, Mike (Ramona) Cornette and Greg (Lou) Porter, both of Debord, and Joe Cornette of Inez; one sister, Joan Crum of Debord; and two sisters-in-law, Jenny McGinnis and Dee Maynard. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jordyn Mollette, JaLynn McGinnis and Izaiah McGinnis; his very close friend, Colby Wright; and lots of family and friends that he loved dearly.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, with Tim Preece and Denny Ray Moore officiating. Burial was at the Cornette Family Cemetery on Coldwater. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral arrangements. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
