INEZ — The Martin County High School gym came alive Aug. 1-3 when the Martin County Boys Basketball team welcomed around 30 campers to the Back 2 School Basketball Camp.
The camp, designed to develop the skills of young basketball players, provided a jam-packed three days of stations, games and competition.
The campers received a warm welcome from Cardinals Coach Jason James and the players as they arrived. Each camper received a camp T-shirt and an award.
“I’m really happy with the turnout,” Coach James said. “It’s a great way to kick off the new school year. Working with some of our coaches and players was great for the kids.”
One of the highlights of the camp was the appearance of special guests Brady Dingess and Trey James, who brought excitement and inspiration to the young athletes. Dingess, a D1 athlete from Morehead State, and James, a D-1 signee who plays at Robert Morris, shared their basketball knowledge and worked with all campers.
“Every kid got to do station work with Trey James and Brady Dingess,” said James. “They really enjoyed that.”
