Roadwork announced for Rockhouse in Martin County

TOMAHAWK — The Kentucky Department of Transportation has alerted motorists of an upcoming daytime closure on KY 1224 Rockhouse Road near Lower Wolf Branch in Martin County. The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday for a cross-drain replacement project.

The work site is located at mile-point 4.7, roughly 0.46 miles east of KY 40 and 150 feet from last weekend’s drain replacement.

Crews will replace a second cross-drain at the site, requiring cutting across a section of KY 1224. The work includes backfilling and patching, and should be finished by 3 p.m. on the same day. The road will reopen to traffic once the materials have settled and the concrete has dried.

The KYTC will perform the work. Motorists should use an alternate route and to pay close attention to the signage in the area.
