Under the Lights youth football camp a big success

INEZ — The Martin County Cardinals football team conducted a free Under the Lights football camp July 24 at the Rock to kick off the youth football season.

About 50 campers in grades K-6 went through offensive and defensive fundamental drills. Cardinal coaching staff and players provided instruction.

Youth football president Joshua Horn is excited to get the youth season underway.

“The season kicks off next week,” Horn said. “So far, 65 kids have signed up.

Games will begin the second week of August.

Anyone wanting to sign their child up for youth football can contact Horn or a Cardinal football player.

Cheerleader age groups include grades K-2 flag football, grades 3-4 tackle football, and grades 5-6 tackle football.
