Martin County basketball camp to feature star power

CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — As the summer heat continues to blaze, the cool indoor confines of the Martin County High School gymnasium is set to be a hub of excitement and learning for young aspiring hoopsters. The Cardinals are hosting a three-day Back 2 School Basketball Camp, scheduled for Aug. 1-3 for boys and girls in grades K-7.

The camp is spearheaded by Coach Jason James, staff, and the triumphant 15th Region champion Cardinals. They are all set to work with the participants daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adding a dash of star power, NCAA D-1 players Trey James and Brady Dingess will also grace the event, mentoring the young participants in fundamental stations, team drills and games.

Registration for the basketball camp is priced at $50 for all three days, with a special offer of a $10 discount for siblings. Those interested can pre-register via the Martin County High School Boys Basketball Facebook page. On-the-spot registrations will be accepted at the door at 9 a.m. Aug. 1.

The Back 2 School Basketball Camp is not just about skills and drills. It’s an opportunity for kids to enjoy, learn and develop their basketball abilities under the guidance of seasoned players and coaches.

Every camper will receive a medal and a camp shirt to commemorate their participation.
