INEZ — The Martin County Senior Citizens Center has received a substantial financial boost for their infrastructure, thanks to a generous grant from the Kentucky Colonels Good Works Program.

The center was awarded $9,557 to use toward the purchase and installation of a Generac generator for their facility. This significant upgrade will ensure that essential services and activities for senior residents can continue even during power outages.

Jennifer Crum, the director of the senior citizens center, expressed her gratitude for the charity of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

“We’re incredibly thankful for this generous donation, which will allow us to improve the conditions of our facility, making it safer and more reliable for all our senior residents,” Crum said.

Crum is inviting everyone to visit the center, which serves as a social hub for seniors in the county. Whether it is to join them for lunch, served from 11 a.m. to noon, or just to socialize and make new friends, the center provides a warm and welcoming environment for everyone.

This grant to the Martin County Senior Citizens Center is part of the Good Works Program’s annual provision of over $2 million in grants to nonprofits across Kentucky. The program aims to assist more than 3.9 million individuals, providing essential support to communities throughout the state.

Since 1951, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, with the aid of over 30,000 active Colonels around the world, has granted a staggering $60 million to more than 1,700 nonprofits. These grants depend entirely on the support of the Colonels who have chosen to extend their charitable efforts to help Kentuckians.

This recent contribution emphasizes the ongoing commitment of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels to support community development and welfare initiatives across Kentucky.
