Haskel Horn

1951—2023

Haskel Horn, 72, of Kermit, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Kentucky.

He was born July 9, 1951, in Mingo County to Ellen Horn and the late Charles Horn. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his siblings, John Horn, Frank Horn, Jessie Horn, Paul Horn, Scotty Horn, Richard Horn and Virginia Reedy. 

Haskel is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Fitzpatrick Horn; his mother, Ellen Parsley Horn; his children, Charlie (Joy) Horn, Kimberly (Wally) Smith and Haskel Joe Horn, all of Kermit, Marie Larson of Manassas, Virginia, and Bobby (Jennifer) Horn of Boon County, and two siblings, Albert Horn of Inez, Kentucky, and Joyce Salmons of Kermit. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Jeanetta, Trevin, Lyndsey, Colton, Trinity, Brandon, Haskel Joe, Canaan, Mindi, Cassie, Dezirea and Little Bob, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends whose lives he has touched and loved dearly. 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church with June Bug Damron, Russell Ball and Michael Bryant officiating. Burial was at the Newsome Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
