INEZ — Martin County High School recently announced the appointment of Brian Charles as its new principal.

Charles, a seasoned educator with over three decades of experience, officially took up his new role last week.

For the past five years, Charles has been serving as principal at Warfield Elementary School, honing his administrative and leadership skills.

His journey in the education sector began in 1992, and since then, he has amassed a wealth of experience as a teacher, administrator and principal.

Charles expressed his gratitude to the site-based decision-making council and Martin County Schools Superintendent Larry James for their confidence and trust in his abilities.

Charles is renowned for his emphasis on fostering positive and professional relationships.

“Thanks to my life experiences, I can relate to people through effective communication and strong interpersonal skills,” Charles stated.

As part of his commitment to nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment, Charles stressed the importance of providing students with opportunities for success in a school setting that promotes safety, understanding and mutual respect among all stakeholders.

“I am proud to have the opportunity to serve the Martin County School District in this role,” Charles said. “I believe that my transformational leadership style, ability and enthusiasm are a great fit to serve the community. Most importantly, I believe in the mission of MCHS and the importance of empowering our teachers to develop caring, independent and productive members of society.”

Charles steps into the shoes of Martha Williams, the former principal, who announced her retirement in May. He expressed his eagerness to build upon the strong foundation that Williams had established and to lead MCHS into its next exciting chapter.
