GREENUP COUNTY — Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) announced a significant addition to its leadership team Wednesday. Timothy Hatfield, a renowned healthcare leader with extensive experience, has joined the organization as the president of ARC’s newly formed hospital division. This division will play a vital role in expanding ARC’s efforts to provide comprehensive behavioral health and mental health services when needed most.
In his new position, Hatfield will work closely with Bellefonte Community CEO Johnathan Frazier to oversee the opening of Bellefonte Hospital and Recovery Center in Greenup County. As ARC’s first inpatient psychiatric hospital, Bellefonte Hospital aims to revive a much-needed healthcare facility catering to the region and the state.
“Addiction Recovery Care has a proven history delivering quality, compassionate treatment and recovery services for our community members struggling with substance use,” Hatfield said. “Now, they recognize the need for more all-encompassing behavioral health facilities that are equipped to concurrently treat serious mental illness and substance use disorder.”
Hatfield, a Pike County native, brings significant healthcare leadership experience. His career includes two decades with Appalachian Regional Healthcare, where he most recently served in a position overseeing operations of Highlands ARH, McDowell ARH, Our Lady of the Way ARH, Paintsville ARH and Morgan County ARH. Hatfield also worked previously for Pikeville Medical Center.
“As a lifelong Eastern Kentuckian, I’ve had a front seat to the devastating toll that the addiction crisis has had on our region,” added Hatfield. “I’m excited to be part of a company that is doing its part to address this epidemic and help more people return to healthy lives.”
ARC’s founder and CEO, Tim Robinson, emphasized the organization’s commitment to meeting a wide range of complex behavioral health issues.
“Our organization began 15 years ago in Louisa, helping individuals and families find drug and alcohol treatment,” Robinson stated. “Today, through ARC’s network of facilities across Kentucky and soon in Virginia and Ohio, we can address a diverse range of behavioral health issues.
“As we expand, we are fortunate to attract exceptional talent like Tim Hatfield, who is widely respected as one of Central Appalachia’s most experienced healthcare leaders. His expertise as a hospital executive will prove invaluable to our team, clients, and communities as we prepare to launch our first psychiatric hospital and enhance our behavioral health system.”
Apart from his professional endeavors, Hatfield participates in the Eastern Kentucky community. He serves on the boards of the Southeast Chamber of Commerce, Floyd County Homeless Shelter, Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR), One East Kentucky and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.
Hatfield resides in Floyd County with his wife and two children.
