Ethel Cather

Ethel Cather, 47, of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away May 31, 2023, in Plymouth, Indiana.

Born July 18, 1975, in Logan, West Virginia, she was the daughter of James Ira and Patty Lou Spaulding Stroud. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ethel (Spaulding) Wallace, Fred Wallace, Mose Spaulding, Shorty Stroud, Sussie Stroud and Hessie Stroud, and followed in death by a special nephew, West Virginia State Police Sergent Cory Maynard.

Ethel was employed by St. Joseph Hospital. She was a member of the Maher Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her spouse, Guy Cather of Indiana, daughter Leslie Cather, and brothers, Michael Stroud and Jamie Stroud. She is also survived by nephews Brandon Stroud, Ryan Stroud, Dylan Stroud, Jason Cather, Jonathon Cather and James Wood; nieces Courtney Stroud, Morgan Callaway, Mary Stroud, Sara Maynard, Patricia Bennett, Patricia Ward and Danielle Ward; seven great-nephews and great-nieces and one on the way.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Maher Freewill Baptist Church, with Matthew Martin and George Nelson officiating. Burial was at the Stroud Cemetery in Wilsondale, West Virginia. Mullins Family Funeral Home of Warfield is honored to serve the family.
