Dewey James II

1998—2023

Dewey James II, 25, of Inez, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, in Knoxville, Tennessee, while working away from home.

Born Feb. 12, 1998, in Lawrence County, he was a son of Mary Porter Workman and the late Dewey James Jr. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Albert Porter.

Dewey was employed by Reeds Inc. of Williamson, West Virginia, and was of the Church of God faith.

Dewey is survived by his mother, stepfather, David Collins; son, Corey Lee James; sisters, Sabrina James (Casey Childers) of Louisa and Tabitha James (Will Bob Johnson) of Williamson, West Virginia. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Virginia Porter of Inez, nephews, Morgan Childers and Keegan Childers; nieces, Abigail Johnson and Gabriella Johnson; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 9, 2023, at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Charlie Dingess officiating. Burial was in the Family Cemetery in Richardson. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
