Parlee Maynard

1937—2023

Parlee Maynard, 85, of Inez, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at her son’s home in Inez.

Born Nov. 13, 1937, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Rass and Mary Harmon Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Maynard; two sons, Steven Maynard and Clark Maynard; two grandsons, Jeremy Sammons and Daniel Sammons; two sisters, Laura Belle Scott and Florence English; and two brothers, Ersel Scott and Fred Scott. 

Parlee is survived by three sons, Jesse (Bridgette) Maynard of Inez, John (Dedra) Maynard of Cattletsburg, and Gary (Maggie) Maynard of Versailles; two daughters, Shelby Jean (David) Harmon of Lexington, South Carolina, and Peggy (Bruce) Marcum of Lovely; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Preece of Auxier and Pat Fitch of Louisa, and four brothers, Homer Scott and Harry Scott, both of Ohio, Sheldon Scott of Auxier and Ricky Scott of Warfield. 

She was a member of the Beauty Church of the Nazarene for many years. 

Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
