Charges include impersonation of an officer, DUI

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — A well-known Logan County lawyer and former prosecuting attorney was arrested for impersonation of a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence, according to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department.
Mark E. Hobbs, 69, as well as Joanna Deloach, of Logan, were both arrested Tuesday.
Reportedly Hobbs was involved in a traffic accident.
Hobbs was charged with DUI, possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and impersonation of law enforcement, according to the MCSD.
The criminal complaint said Hobbs was also charged with conspiracy.
Deloach was charged with possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.
Hobbs’ criminal complaint said the vehicle Hobbs and Deloach were driving had a “white capsule” and a “white powder” on the dashboard.
According to the criminal complaint, Hobbs had a pill bottle of tramadol hydrochloride, a pain killer, and $108. Deloach had lorazepam and diazepam, both anxiety medications, and $612 in her pocketbook. All medications are schedule IV controlled substances.
The arresting officer was MCSD L. Thomas.
