INEZ — Christmas in the Mountains 2023 is set for Nov. 26-Dec. 2 in downtown Inez.
Organizer Linda Lou Webb announced that A Merry Little Christmas Party kicks off the festival Nov. 26 at the Collier Center, where a new Mr. and Ms. Christmas in the Mountains will be crowned.
“Save the dates,” Webb said. “We are already working and will keep you posted.”
The CITM committee is still planning, but Webb confirmed the popular ice rink would return this year.
Festival-goers can also look forward to a new carnival with new rides and traditional favorites such as the extravagant Christmas lights displays, local artist performances, vendors, A Walk to Bethlehem, Keeping Christ in Christmas Parade, a petting zoo, a car show and much more.
Webb is issuing an open invitation for volunteers and supporters. Anyone interested in planning and decorating can contact Christmas in the Mountains 2023 on Facebook.
Christmas in the Mountains originated in 2015 when a local women’s ministry group felt led to honor the season’s true meaning.
“God gave us this vision,” Webb said.
The festival has continued to grow each year since and has won the overwhelming support and encouragement of the community.
Last year’s Christmas in the Mountains earned more new friends and supporters as thousands visited Inez to enjoy the attractions and activities.
