Police seize pound of meth

Methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia that Kentucky State Police troopers and Post 9’s Drug Interdiction Unit seized Monday in Salyersville.

SALYERSVILLE — Police seized a pound of methamphetamine and half an ounce of heroin Monday at a traffic safety checkpoint in Salyersville.

Kentucky State Police troopers and Post 9’s Drug Interdiction Unit conducted the checkpoint and arrested three individuals.

Nikki Spurlock

Nikki Spurlock, 33, of Martin, was charged with trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine), giving officer false identifying information, and traffic-related violations.

Magan Kates

Magan Kates, 29, of Campbellsville, was charged with trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of controlled substance (heroin).

Shawn Holbrook

Shawn Holbrook, 39, of Pikeville, was charged with trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking controlled substance (heroin), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The three were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
