Kenneth Ray Rose
1959—2023
On July 31, 1959, in Williamson, West Virginia, a fourth son was born to Ken and Phyllis (Johnson) Rose. They named this son Kenneth Ray Rose, known by many as “Roach.”
Kenny grew up to operate heavy equipment and worked for several strip mine operations. His love and passion was to coon hunt, and every year he looked forward to gathering at the cabin during deer season with family and friends. He loved to cook for them all. His second pastime was to talk and trade with CB buddies. Those friends will miss him also.
For 36 years, his life was committed to Lucille Maynard. He loved her dearly, and with this union were two children, the late Savannah “Rose” Marcum and Alan Rose of Inez, and his pride and joy, Shawn and Kendra Marcum, his grandchildren.
Before Kenny’s passing, two older brothers, Etsel Rose and Hershell Rose, both of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away also. Left behind to cherish his memories are his sisters, Dixie Boyce and Bonnie Rose, and his brothers, Charles, Elvis, Wendell, Floyd, Bobby, Garland and Shawn Rose, all of Louisa. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews will cherish his memory.
Shawn Alan Marcum, Chad Rose, Floyd “Bubba” Rose, Matt Rose, Josh Rose and Paul Conn were pallbearers.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 22, 2023, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Pastor Noah Chaffins officiating. Burial was at the Rose Cemetery on Peach Orchard. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
