Elias Fletcher

1932—2023

Elias Fletcher, age 91, of Lovely, passed away April 21, 2023, at his residence.

He was born March 12, 1932, in Martin County to the late Robert and Susie Blackburn Fletcher. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Maynard Fletcher; four brothers, Virgil Fletcher, Willis Fletcher, Johnny Fletcher and Tommy Fletcher; four sisters, Pauline Preece, Alice Delong, Polly Copley and Edith Jude; one grandson, Adam Jude; and one great-granddaughter, Elisha Fletcher.

He is survived by six sons, Glen Ray (Darlene) Fletcher of Louisa, Gary (Betty) Fletcher of Inez, Lewis (Edna) Fletcher of Louisa, Randy (Stephanie) Fletcher of Louisa, Raymond (Sharon) Fletcher of Pilgrim and Billy Joe (Susan) Fletcher of Paintsville; five daughters, Joyce (Haskel) Stacy of Inez, Shelvie (Roger) Pruitt of Lowmansville, Irene (Thurman) Jude of Lovely, Sandy (Dwayne) Collins of Inez and Lois Faye (Rick) Slone of Lovely; and two brothers, Robert (Cat) Fletcher and James Fletcher, both of Lovely. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Buck Branch United Baptist Church with Buddy Stacy and David Stacy officiating. Burial was at the Jude Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
