SALYERSVILLE — A Magoffin County woman has been indicted for exploitation of an adult following an investigation by Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s Medicaid Fraud Unit.
Courtney Arnett, 31, of Stambaugh, was indicted Thursday by a Magoffin County grand jury. Her charges include one count of knowingly exploiting an adult (Class C felony) and one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of property (Class C felony).
According to the indictment, from December 2018 to January 2019, Arnett exploited the finances of a vulnerable adult.
Detective Justin Cooley of the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Unit investigated the case. Assistant Attorney General Lindon Gullett presented it before the grand jury.
The charges in an indictment are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
