One arrested, two others wanted for Kermit school break-in

KERMIT, W.Va. — The Mingo County Sheriff’s Department has arrested one suspect and is looking for two other young adults in connection with the recent Kermit Pre K-8 School burglary.

Dakota L. Blankenship of Williamson was arrested by deputies March 21 and charged with entry of a building other than a dwelling, petit larceny and conspiracy in connection with the case.

Victoria Ford and Tyler Savage, both of Williamson, are wanted for entry of a building other than a dwelling, petit larceny and conspiracy in connection with the school case.

Sheriff Joe Smith and the department have asked for assistance identifying and locating individuals who broke into the Kermit school at approximately 2:30 a.m. Feb. 28.

Cameras picked up pictures of the intruders, who were inside the school for approximately 30 minutes before stealing money collected from a basketball game.

Sheriff Smith and Cpl. E. Williams are the investigating officers.
