Traffic pattern changes, restricted widths along KY 645 in Martin County starting March 27

MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. — Motorists can expect traffic pattern changes and restricted lane widths along KY 645 in Martin County beginning Monday (March 27) until June.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced a six-mile-long resurfacing project would start near the Lawrence County line at mile point 0.0 and extend towards Inez just south of the flyover bridge at mile point 6.2.

Roadway widths will be restricted to one lane during the day and night. Traffic patterns will change as the project progresses.

According to the KTC, crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with some weekend work possible. Milling operations will run for approximately three weeks before crews begin asphalt operations.

The KTC advised that motorists should pay close attention to signage and equipment parked near the work zone during the day and overnight hours.

Mountain Enterprise has been contracted to perform the work.
