Tug boys well represented on All-State team

Two girls get honorable mention

NAUGATUCK — The Tug Valley boys basketball team was well-represented on the Class A All-State teams released this week by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

Sophomore guard Joey Gollihue made the first team. The 6-foot-2 wing averaged more than 17 points per game for the Panthers.

TVHS made it to the semi-finals of the state tournament and finished the season with a great 23-4 record.

Senior Parker Davis was voted to the second team. The all-around guard averaged 16 this season.

Sophomore guard Ashton Davis was named to the honorable mention list. He averaged 14 this season.

The Tug Valley Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson and his coaching staff stated they were proud of these players.

Freshman point guard Braydun Ferris received an honor by being named to the all-tournament team at the state tourney played at the Charleston Coliseum.

Tug Valley only loses two seniors from the roster, Parker Davis and key reserve Jonathan Wagoner.
