Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests and citations.

Christopher Mollette

Christopher Mollette, 35, of Tomahawk, was arrested Monday for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic charges.

Jackie Blackburn

Jackie Blackburn, 58, of Louisa, was arrested Friday on Little Peter Cave in Lovely for first-degree criminal mischief and prescription controlled substance not in proper container. According to Sheriff Kirk, the manager of Lovely Zip Zone called saying Blackburn had backed into the gas pump and left the scene. The sheriff viewed the store’s security video and identified Blackburn. The vehicle is registered to Blackburn’s fiance.

Clayton Jude

Clayton Jude, 49, of Warfield, was arrested Friday on Meathouse Road in Pilgrim for three bench warrants. Kidd made the arrest.

Casey Spence

Casey Spence, 25, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday for giving an officer false identifying information, parole violation and traffic charges.

Mary Lou Setser

Mary Lou Setser, 52, of Inez, was arrested Thursday in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.

Fred Daniels

Fred Daniels, 30, of Tomahawk, was arrested Thursday on Route 40 in Tomahawk for driving on a DUI-suspended license, no registration plates, no insurance and a bench warrant for court. Deputy Kidd stopped Daniels for no visible registration plate. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered Daniels was DUI-suspended.

Ersel Crum Jr., 53, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Dalton Crum Road in Inez for third-degree burglary after allegedly entering a neighbor’s house. Sheriff Kirk was dispatched on a call that Crum was outside his neighbor’s house walking around it. Moments later, dispatch advised the sheriff that Crum had kicked in the door to the residence.

When the sheriff arrived, he found Crum inside his own residence “talking to himself.” 

“He advised he went to his neighbor’s house to talk with her son about a dispute and the son had run from the front to the back of the house several times,” Kirk said in his report. “The neighbor’s son is in jail and has been for some time.”

Crum allegedly admitted he opened the back door to his neighbor’s house and entered without permission.

“He kept talking to himself on the way to the booking room,” noted Kirk.

Fourteen hours later, Crum was charged with public intoxication near Milo Road. Deputy Kidd responded to a call about a man trying to get into cars and jumping on them near Horn’s BP, swinging his arms, talking to himself and talking out of his head. The deputy stated Crum had trouble walking and standing, seemed confused and could not complete a field sobriety test. Crum has an April 4 court date on that charge.

Phillip Horn

Phillip Horn, 59, of Warfield, was arrested Thursday at Dempsey Housing in Warfield for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana. Deputy Kidd reported that he was talking with someone at an adjacent apartment when Horn opened his door and the deputy smelled marijuana. According to the police report, Horn said he had just smoked half a joint and produced a half-smoked joint. Horn consented to a search of his apartment, where law enforcement found a plate sitting on the living room floor with several smoked marijuana cigarettes. Officers also found a glass pipe and a crystal substance in the bedroom closet. According to Kidd, Horn stated the “meth” was his.

Linda Crum

Linda Crum, 65, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Main Street in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.

Estella Mills Justice

Estella Mills Justice, 47, of Warfield, was arrested March 15 at Warfield IGA for alcohol intoxication. According to Deputy Kidd, Justice had an open fifth of an alcoholic beverage and a strong odor of the beverage on her person. The police report states Justice “was clearly under the influence of [an] intoxicant,” and she admitted she took “two shots.”

Patricia J. Hammond

Patricia J. Hammond, 26, of Inez, was arrested March 15 on Main Street in Inez for possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a minor. Sheriff Kirk reports Hammond was a passenger in a truck when her husband was arrested for DUI and was smoking marijuana inside the truck with her 10-year-old son present. The sheriff reported Hammond had a 9mm handgun under her leg and several knives were inside the truck.

Stephen Hammond

Stephen Hammond, 29, of Farmhurst Lane, Columbus, Ohio, was arrested March 15 in Inez for second-offense DUI, endangering the welfare of a minor and traffic charges. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.

James Carter

James Carter, 59, of Warfield, was arrested March 15 at the IGA in Warfield on a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.

Linda Mollett

Linda Mollett, 59, of Tomahawk, was arrested March 15 on Tracefork Road in Inez for a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.

Justin Cline

Justin Cline, 29, of Inez, was arrested March 15 on Main Street in Inez for a warrant charging him with criminal mischief and a second warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.
