Habakkuk’s prayer

BY MOLLY HINKLE

Habakkuk knew of the mighty deeds God had done — how He had spoken the world into existence, delivered His people from Egypt and led them into the promised land, and had given them unbelievable victories in battle, performing miracle after miracle. But for Habakkuk, knowing wasn’t enough. He hungered to experience for himself, to witness a mighty move of God’s power. He wanted to see a great revival.

Many Christians today need this kind of revelation. Many have never seen a real display of God’s power. Some are dominated by doubt and don’t really believe that miracles still happen, that God still heals or that He speaks to His people. Some place more faith in the things of this world, doubting that God can supply their needs or bless them.
