WARFIELD — Martin County Middle School Lady Cards volleyball took on Paintsville at home Thursday, winning the B-team game and losing the A-team.
Paintsville only had A- and B-teams, so Coach Elizabeth Mann played her C- and B-teams in the B-team game.
The B-team Lady Cards came out on top after winning two tight sets of 18-15 and 18-16.
The A-team struggled against the Lady Tigers’ great serving and hitting, and Paintsville won in two short sets of 21-5 and 21-5.
“This game was a huge learning curve for our girls,” Coach Mann said. “We get to play them again on their home court later this month and I feel we will be better prepared.”
The Lady Cards are back in action Saturday in tournament play in Ashland.
