EASTERN, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 9 is conducting a death investigation of a man who died after being arrested by deputies in Floyd County.
Steven Moore, 43, of Eastern, became unconscious and appeared to be suffering from a medical emergency following his arrest March 1.
KSP said in a release Friday that Moore was involved in a vehicle pursuit that led to a foot pursuit and his arrest.
Deputies administered first aid until emergency personnel arrived and transported Moore to McDowell ARH, where he was later pronounced deceased by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.
Moore’s body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
Sergeant Steven Mounts of the KSP Post 9 is conducting the investigation.
