LOVELY — Lovely residents JC and Danielle Kirk have big plans for the farm they are building, aiming to make it a welcoming place for locals and tourists. Appalachian Blooms Flower Farm will be a roughly one-acre community gathering place and agricultural center.

“I want to create a space where people can come pick their own flowers and herbs, enjoy nature, have evening picnics and feed the goats,” said owner Danielle Kirk.

“I want to host fairy garden parties, and nature walks, a place to play, and would love to be a field trip destination for the kiddos in the region later on. I want to have space for paint classes, photographers to host photo sessions all season, live music, allow private events, and so, so many other community events.”

The Kirks know their vision will take time to bring to life, but they are motivated by their love of the region and their home in Martin County.

“Of course this will all take time and a lot of dedication, but growing things and making my own fresh bouquets is something I have really come to enjoy,” said Kirk.

Over the last few years, Danielle Kirk has grown a large audience on TikTok and other platforms, educating folks on Appalachian issues and living.

“Showing the beauty of Appalachia and sharing that with the world is something I’ve done virtually for three years now,” said Kirk. “I can’t wait to share our space with others.”

The Kirks are dedicated to making their plans for the farm a reality and creating a space that the community can enjoy for years to come. They have begun planting the first generation of flowers that will grow at Appalachian Blooms.
