Eden Elementary Spotlighting Paws-itively Wonderful Wildcats

Eden Elementary would like to recognize several different groups of people that have exhibited “paws-itive” behaviors that are noteworthy of celebration. Each week, we would like to showcase a student from each grade level. We will also be spotlighting a community partner and a member/group of our hard-working staff that have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on our school. This community partner and staff will actually remain in the spotlight for two weeks.

Our school staff is always watching for opportunities to encourage students to demonstrate excellent character, behavior or effort. Our school hopes to create a “paws-itive” culture for students, staff, and our community where they truly feel valued as we spotlight these Wonderful Wildcats!

Staff of the Week

Eden Staff of the Week John Horn and Alexandria Horn

The staff that we would like to recognize this week are our teachers that comprise our “specials” team: Mr. John Horn (P.E.), Mrs. Alexandra Horn (Library) and Mrs. Joni Setser (Art/Music). They work collaboratively to ensure that all of our students at Eden Elementary receive their fun and educational time while empowering students to make healthy choices, play cooperatively, access their reading materials based on their interests, and create and express themselves artistically and musically.

Extracurricular pursuits can bring some essential relief and release time. Also, they combine with the academics to encourage greater success.

These specials are bright spots in the school day and the path to a more personal sort of growth and well-being through student engagement. Our specials help feed and grow greater success emotionally, personally and academically. Thanks to all these teachers for always being flexible and accommodating to our schedules and ensuring that all students get their class time and that our teachers receive their much-needed planning time. We love you all!!

Community Partner of the Week

Our school would like to spotlight the Mountain Citizen newspaper this week. They have been so great to keep our community informed on lots of issues and news around our little community in Martin County. They promote a sense of social engagement in print as well as digitally. The newspaper keeps everyone up to date on all the events happening in our local towns as well as spotlighting our people in our community, including our students across the county. Thank you for always being willing to publish our “Paws-itively Wonderful Wildcats” weekly and helping us make this spotlight possible for everyone to access, especially those individuals that do not use social media outlets.

Again, thanks to all our Wonderful Wildcats for making our school a more “paws-itive” place to learn and be.
