INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests.
Betty Allen, 31, of Pilgrim, was arrested Monday at Family Dollar Store in Warfield on a bench warrant. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.
Jeremy Tyler Jude, 26, of Tomahawk, was arrested Sunday on Rockhouse Road, Tomahawk, for theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others $1,000-$10,000 and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession. Sheriff Kirk reports that while arresting Jude on a warrant, he found a syringe in Jude’s left front pocket.
Brian Adkins, 25, of Fort Gay, W.Va., was arrested Sunday on KY-1714, Pilgrim, for operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, drug paraphernalia-buy/possession, failure to produce an insurance card, and first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine). Deputy J.C. Kirk reported that during a traffic stop, officers seized a small amount of white powder that Adkins admitted was meth, a scale with drug paraphernalia, and a meth pipe.
Richard E. Delong, 58, of Lovely, was arrested Sunday in Lovely for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 0.08, and all-terrain vehicles violations. Sheriff Kirk reports Delong blew a 0.106 on the portable breath test.
Billy Jean Music, 48, of Warfield, was arrested Saturday in Warfield for criminal trespassing. Deputy David Adams responded to a complaint about a male and female arguing at Dempsey Housing. He arrived to find Music in an apartment. Management advised Music was barred from the property.
Justin Scott Maynard, 36, of Belfry, was arrested Saturday in Warfield for criminal trespassing and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO. Deputy Adams was dispatched to Dempsey Housing on a complaint that a male was there violating a DVO. He arrived to find Maynard in an apartment with a female who had an active DVO on him. Management advised Maynard was barred from the property.
Rita Lynn Maynard, 51, of Dunlow, W.Va., was arrested Saturday at the Martiki strip mine in Pilgrim on a warrant from another police agency. Constable Bradford Preece made the arrest.
Carl Daniel, 37, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday at Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a warrant from Johnson Circuit Court. Kidd served the warrant.
Matthew Daniel, 32, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday at Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a warrant from Lawrence District Court. Kidd served the warrant.
James R. Newsome, 40, of Kermit, W.Va., was arrested Friday in Lovely for aggravated DUI/alcohol and driving with a DUI-suspended license. Deputy Adams responded to a complaint of a male subject intoxicated at the Lovely Zip Zone. The caller advised the subject was extremely impaired and was peeing in the parking lot. According to Adams, Newsome had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and food all over his face and on his stomach. The officer noted Newsome was slobbering and had slurred speech. The police report states Newsome told the deputy that he had been drinking whiskey.
William Newsome, 24, of Breeden, W.Va., was arrested Thursday in Inez on a bench warrant for court and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession. Chief Deputy Kidd reports he performed a pat-down after arresting Newsome on the bench warrant and found a syringe with a needle in Blackburn’s sock.
Jason Mollett, 42, of Tomahawk, was arrested Thursday on Rockhouse Road, Tomahawk, for theft by unlawful taking $500-$10,000 and first-degree criminal mischief. Chief Deputy Kidd reports law enforcement received an anonymous tip that stolen AT&T copper was located at Mollett’s address on Rockhouse Road. When Kidd arrived, he saw Mollett cutting copper phone lines in a building through a hole in the wall. During the investigation, Kidd learned Mollett cut the wire on Tomahawk road at around 4 a.m., had cut copper lines several times and also sold copper lines for others at Mountain Metal in Prestonsburg. The officer obtained an invoice from Mountain Metal showing Mollett had received $5,681 for copper.
Shane Ward, 23, of Lovely, was arrested Thursday in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.
Koby Davis, 27, of Louisa, was arrested Thursday for contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Calvin Fletcher, 63, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Turkey Creek Road, Inez, for assault, fourth degree (no visible injury). Chief Deputy Kidd responded to a call about a female flagging traffic down in a wheelchair on Turkey Creek Road. Kidd reports the female stated Fletcher struck her on the left side of the face, hit her in the back of the head, threw a full can of beer at her striking her in the back, and tried to knock her off her wheelchair.
Joe Blackburn, 51, of Pilgrim, was arrested Thursday on Rockhouse road, Inez, on a bench warrant for court. Kidd made the arrest.
Kody Harless, 24, of Tomahawk, was arrested Jan. 31 for contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order. Preston made the arrest.
Shawn Fitch, 40, of Inez, served a criminal summons Thursday after being indicted for receiving stolen property $1,000-$10,000. Adams served the summons.
Derrick Nicklaus Edward Brewer, 38, of Kermit, W.Va., was arrested Jan. 31 at Riverside Apartments, Warfield, for violation of a Kentucky emergency protective order or domestic violence order. Adams made the arrest.
