“Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?” Luke 12:27-28
Psalm 19:1 states “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” Well, according to Luke 12, it looks like the Earth didn’t want to miss out on teaching us about the goodness of the Lord either! There we read how that God is good, and He longs to take care of all He has created, especially His children!
The last couple of weeks we have written of the wonderful provision of our God for those He calls His own. We reminded you of an episode in the life of Isaac, at a time when the world he lived in was experiencing economic upheaval. There was a famine in the land, but the Lord was able to bless him anyway, and his crops and his herds of animals still thrived. The point? God is not hindered from providing for His people just because the economic environment is not conducive for growth, in fact, He can multiply the blessing right in the middle of a famine.
