Helen Annette Ayscue Smith

1961—2023

Helen Annette Ayscue Smith, age 61, of Tomahawk, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Va.

Born July 24, 1961 in Green Cove Springs, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mavis Ayscue. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Smith.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca (James) White of Knoxville, two grandchildren, Paige Sweeney and Corey White, both of Knoxville, four siblings, Donnie (Susie) Ayscue of Oak Hill, W.Va., Randy (Margaret) Ayscue of Tomahawk, Diane (Andy) Root of Norwalk, Ohio, and Rusty (Brenda) Ayscue of Tomahawk, and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Ayscue Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral costs. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
