PIKEVILLE — The Martin County Cardinals’ star guard Luke Hale (#2) eclipsed 1,000 career points Friday in the Boys All “A” Classic vs. East Ridge.
Heading into the East Ridge game Hale was averaging 21.5 points per game with a total of 980 career points.
Late in the second quarter Dray Duff passed the ball to a wide-open Hale. The hot-handed Hale pulled up and drained a college 3-pointer from the left wing to score his 1000th.
The six-foot-three junior tickled the twine for five 3-pointers to finish the game with 25 points.
The Cardinals defeated East Ridge 97-69 to advance to the championship game for the first time in school history.
