Eden Elementary Spotlighting ‘Paws-itively’ Wonderful Wildcats

Eden Elementary Students of the Week

Eden Elementary School is recognizing several different groups of people that have exhibited “paws-itive” behaviors that are noteworthy of celebration.

Each week, EES showcases a student from each grade level, a community partner and a member/group of Eden’s hard-working staff that have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on the school. (The community partner and staff will remain in the spotlight for two weeks.)

Our staff is always watching for opportunities to encourage students to demonstrate excellent character, behavior or effort. Our school hopes to create a “paws-itive” culture for students, staff and our community where they truly feel valued as we spotlight these Wonderful Wildcats!

Eden Staff of the Week – the Kindergarten team (left to right): Susan Fletcher, Heather Horn and Beth McGinnis

Staff of the Week

The staff that we would like to recognize this week is our Kindergarten team, Ms. Heather Horn, Mrs. Susan Fletcher and Mrs. Beth McGinnis. They worked very hard in coordinating and publishing our first-ever “Slumber School Series.”

The “Slumber School Series” was a Christmas Countdown literacy event sponsored by our Title I program at Eden Elementary. It consisted of various staff members reading a bedtime story on our school’s Facebook page in hopes of reaching as many students and even adults as possible. All of the stories were so engaging, and a great deal of interaction occurred that resulted in students winning prizes from a wonderful collection of Scholastic books. Stay tuned for more “Slumber School Series” in the future. Thank you to all of our wonderful Kindergarten team! We love you!

Community Partner of the Week

Our school would like to spotlight Mr. Jim Booth for his generous donation of Shuffle Bean coffee cups and lids to Eden’s Christmas Café.

Students were rewarded for their high achievement and growth from the winter cycle of MAP testing with a visit to the Christmas Café. They were served hot cocoa in a Shuffle Bean coffee cup for a true café experience and their choice of cookies or cupcakes and were also entertained.

Thank you very much, Mr. Booth, for your kindness and generosity in making our Christmas Café a huge success for the students at Eden Elementary!

Again, thanks to all of these Wonderful Wildcats for making our school a more “paws-itive” place to learn and be.
