INEZ — The Brothers of the Wheel Motorcycle Club Western West Virginia Chapter continued the Christmas tradition of bringing joy to Head Start children Thursday at the Collier Center.

Santa was there to hand out toys to all the children.

Chapter president Randy Marcum said the chapter based in Fort Gay serves Head Start students in Louisa, Fort Gay and Martin County.

“Next year, we’re picking up Prichard Head Start,” Marcum said.

The club collects donations to pay for the annual event.

“We couldn’t do it if the public didn’t help us,” said Marcum.

Marcum has been fundraising for the Christmas toy drive for 13 years. The Western West Virginia chapter has been involved for the last six years since Marcum started the chapter.

“We also raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for cancer,” added Marcum. “On the average, we send between $3,000 and $4,000 a year to the hospital,”

Brothers of the Wheel Motorcycle Club was founded in 1977 in Milton, W.Va.,  and now has chapters across the United States.
