LOUISA — An ongoing drug investigation in Lawrence County yielded four arrests, with one of the defendants found to have an outstanding warrant against him in Martin County.
The criminal complaint states that Officer Teddy Newsome of the Louisa Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Osborne executed a search at a residence on Noah’s Landing in Louisa, where they made the arrests.
Hansel Wiley, 52, and Samantha Johnson, 31, both of Louisa, were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cory Ferrell, 26, of Sumerco, W.Va., was arrested on one count of theft of identity without consent. Ferrell was also arrested on the outstanding warrant out of Martin County related to a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Joseph Adkins, 29, of Fort Gay, W.Va., was arrested on a charge of providing false information to an officer. He also had a bench warrant against him from Lawrence County.
The four were transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
Patrolman Newsome said the case remains an open investigation and there may be additional arrests charges.
