INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:
Cory Marcum, 20, of Crum, W.Va., was arrested Friday at 48 Locust Ct. in Lovely on an indictment warrant for first-degree bail jumping, first-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), prescription controlled substance not in proper container. He was also served with warrants for two counts of failure to appear. Deputy David Adams made the arrest.
James Harless, 56, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday for a parole violation by Parole Officer Jordan. He was then served an indictment warrant at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, Paintsville, for possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine). Constable Bradford Preece faxed the indictment warrant to BSRDC.
Betty Allen, 31, of Pilgrim, was arrested Thursday at Dempsey Apartments in Warfield for criminal trespassing. Deputy Chris Kidd reported Allen was staying around Apt. 6A after she was banned from the property.
Kristi Fletcher, 33, of Inez, was arrested Thursday for contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order.
Taylor G. Howell, 24, of Inez, was arrested Thursday at 6327 S. Wolf Creek Road in Pilgrim for first-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking all others $1,000-$10,000 (attempt). Deputy Adams reported that while patrolling, he observed Howell and John R. Pack cutting down a span of phone line. Both subjects jumped in the vehicle and attempted to take off. Howell allegedly stated he was trying to make some money to pay rent. Adams reported Howell had a fiberglass pole, a spotlight and a battery-powered saw that they used to cut the phone line and strand.
John R. Pack, 19, of Warfield, was arrested Thursday at 6327 S. Wolf Creek Road in Pilgrim for first-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking all others $1,000-$10,000. Deputy Adams reported that while patrolling, he observed Pack and Taylor G. Howell cutting down a span of phone line. Both subjects jumped in the vehicle and attempted to take off. Pack allegedly told the deputy he was trying to make some money to pay rent. Adam Porter, 31, of Pilgrim, was arrested Nov. 16 in Pilgrim on a bench warrant for court. Constable Bradford Preece made the arrest.
Jamie Lee McNeely, 32, of Lovely, was arrested Nov. 15 on Long Branch Road in Lovely on a warrant for first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), license to be in possession, failure to produce insurance card and reckless driving. Adams made the arrest.
Heather Marcum, 27, of Fort Gay, W.Va., was arrested Nov. 15 at the Brookshire Inn in Inez for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy Kidd responded to a call about two people refusing to leave room 112 at the Brookshire Inn. The officer reported Marcum appeared to be under the influence, had trouble standing and talking and could not complete a field sobriety test.
Lester Finley, 52, of Dunlow, W.Va., was arrested Nov. 15 at the Brookshire Inn in Inez for public intoxication. Deputy Kidd responded to a call about two people refusing to leave room 112 at the Brookshire Inn. The officer found Finley sitting in a vehicle and asked him to submit to a field sobriety test, which he could not complete. Finley alleged told the deputy that he did THC vapes the night before and morning.
According to jail records, the Kentucky State Police arrested the following individuals in Martin County:
Shawn Fitch, 40, of Inez, was arrested Sunday on four counts of contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order. KSP Trooper Salyer made the arrest.
Fred Daniels, 29, of Tomahawk, was arrested Nov. 16 for failure to appear, fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to wear seat belts, rear license not illuminated, improper equipment, improper registration plate, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/security, failure to produce insurance card, no registration plates and failure to appear. KSP Trooper Hale made the arrest.
