Howard Moore
1944—2022
Howard Moore, age 78, of Stepptown, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1944 to the late Clell and Mae Moore.
Howard was born with a disability that made life harder for him, but that didn’t stop him. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his brother’s store and his sister Tamsy’s porch and would hang out on a daily basis. He would make sure he had plenty of quarters to give to little children to buy pop. He had a servant’s heart and showed it in many ways by caring for his daddy and mommy for many years and helping the needy.
He is preceded in death by brothers Cecil, Dock, Bob, Harry, Hursel and Bill Moore and sisters Tamsy Rice, Virgie Pack, Gladys Moore, Marie Green and Gracie Carter.
Howard is survived by one sister, Arlene Moore, who lovingly cared for him before and during his illness. He is also survived by his nieces Donna Fletcher, Janice Powell and Tina Griffey, nephew Tony Moore, great-nephew Larry Joe Fletcher, sisters-in-law Helen Moore and Patricia Moore, brother-in-law Clarence Carter and a host of nieces and nephews, all who loved him dearly.
A special thank you to Ricky Marcum and Jonathan Cook for their help.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home, with Kevin Rice officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
Our Holy Bible tells us to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. What a glorious reunion he had with his Lord and his family with no more sickness or sorrow.
