Eden Elementary would like to recognize several different groups of people that have exhibited “paws-itive” behaviors that are noteworthy of celebration.
Every week, we would like to showcase a student from each grade level. We will also be spotlighting a community partner and a member/group of our hard-working staff that have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on our school. This community partner and staff will actually remain in the spotlight for two weeks. Our school staff is always watching for opportunities to encourage students to demonstrate excellent character, behavior, or effort.
Our school hopes to create a “paws-itive” culture for students, staff, and our community where they truly feel valued as we spotlight these Wonderful Wildcats!

Staff of the Week
We would like to recognize Mrs. Garnet Castle, finance clerk, and Mrs. Barb Horn, attendance clerk, who also serve as our wonderful secretaries at our school. They are able to take a chaotic situation and provide calming solutions with the urgency that the situation may require. They wear many hats at our school. They handle everything from getting coverage for teachers and staff to being excited about a kid who just lost their first tooth or earned their first reading book. Thank you, ladies, for all of your helpfulness and love for our school.
Community Partner
We would like to recognize Big Sandy Healthcare and a few special ladies that work at our school. Mrs. Keisha Varney, our wonderful school nurse, is always caring for sick children when they are the most vulnerable at school, and she does so with such compassion, grace, and knowledge. In addition to our school nurse, we have been very blessed with the addition of Mrs. Cara McCoy, APRN, and Mrs. Corie Mills, LPN. These great ladies are providing a broad range of services and excellence in care for both students and staff. They are filling a critical societal gap in primary care for those that need it most.
Again, thanks to all of these Wonderful Wildcats for making our school a more “paws-itive” place to learn and be.
